Massive respect to Mike Holroyd for coming all the way from Whitby to get his wifes 10 year old Octavia a good clean and polish @ chez ChrisRs'

After a deep cleanse and decontamination of the paintwork,  it revealed a largely swirl free bodywork, but with a few scratches here and there

Certainly not bad for a 10 year old car!!

Doorshuts cleaned with APC and a detailing brush

All plastics masked off

Engine given a light clean with APC and the Pressure Washer...Left to dry till later, then dressed with Aerospace Protectorant Spray

Polished with an Orange Medium soft pad via my DAS-21 and Rupes Rotary with Sonax Profiline Polish

When almost done, it started to drizzle, but we cracked on, thanks for Alan turning up and helping

Sealed with AB Hellshine Abyss Sealant, the only one I knew would be ok to apply and buff off in damp weather

Whole car and wheels then sprayed with Sonax BSD

Glass cleaned and sealed

Plastics dressed with AB Hellshine to remove the white fading...worked really well!

Exhaust cleaned with Wire wool and polished with Megs Metal cleaner

Lovely job Chris, did you use Abyss on the trim?  It works really well and will last a while.

Yes I did

The trim was white, but was fully restored with the Abyss

I knew it would restore it, so that also was a factor for applying to the rest of the car....with the light drizzle

I think they were talking exhausts!!

Great job and a great recommendation for Hellshine Abyss on trim, I found the spray version exactly the same.

 

And the durability on trim is fantastic.

 

I am still wondering why I got rid of mine.

...and it can be applied in drizzle!!

Fair comment, I got my pot of Abyss for £50 instead of £60 and felt like I got a bargain.

If I could get 50% at AD I would be skint!

I have seen plenty of examples of ChrisRs handy work on the forum recently, plus your car really brings it to reality. Just think when you first PM'd me in 2011, I only had 97k on the clock!
