Just had timing belt changed

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just had a local garage do my belt and waterpump.

Checking the car over as i do when i get it home.. Doesn't look like the wheel arch liner has been off or intercooler pipework etc. Coolant has been changed though.

I had a look at the belt, should it be shiny on top? Anything else i should check?

Just want to make sure its been done.

I didn't think the liner had to come off but may be wrong? I always ask for the used parts to be put in my boot. Yes, they could be someone one else's but it's unlikely. That's my method of knowing work has been done.

Hopefully someone a little more technical can advise... Having bought new parts though I don't recall the belt ever being shiny. Matt finish!

I had a look at mine and its a matt finish, didn't know if it was to be shiny or not lol

They go shiney after being used and running around pulleys etc :)
