Shh nothing wrong with my cars! The Clio is being rather good at the ,moment just when it was meant to be sold

She drives a 1.4 mpi 75bhp fabia... i know mine is only 80bhp but its the whole turbo kicking-in thing lol

.. besides she definately wont want to pass it on to me now, just bought some new wheeltrims for it, new coolant tank , new coolant + some protective door / boot strips :p

1.4 MPI 8V is 68 bhp ;)

By the way, like the vids of the engines? :p

mine sounds like a tractor! :D

If you did the timing chain on the 1.4 MPI it would be even quieter... and better to drive :D

Perhaps it was the threat of selling it scared it into behaving?

The video was of his 3 pot diesel iirc as he had the chain done before it was due as it started to rattle and annoyed him

Sell the mk2 already, buy a nice mk1. :)

Sell the mk2 already, buy a nice mk1 in White that I have for sale in classifieds. :)

HTH

I'd go for a 1.4 16v personally.

With 100k on the clock mine runs well, averages around 50mpg and you don't have to put up with PD diesel vibrations through the steering wheel.

The VRS is for modders. ;)

Saw an 02 plate for 2,5k on there... Only done 12k miles jesus....

How did you find it after the timing chain? Mine made a world of difference, as 93,000 miles had a big impact on the tension of the chain. Mine had about an inch (so 1/2" either way) lateral slack on either side of the sprockets. so the valve/crank timing must have been quite sloppy!

Just saw this on autotrader...

mine was elegance, so had front and rear electric windows, the VRS doesnt even have rear electric windows!

beige is bad enough!

none the less my first Mk1 Fabia put up with my abusive driving and It is still going now at well over 100k miles, they are pretty solid, even if the 1.4 16V is a lemon.

My wifes is still only about 52k miles even now :P , had it done at like 48k and yea i noticed the idling was alot smoother for one, and it pulled away better, but the main reason i had mine done was i could hear it rattling, im sure it wouldve been fine for another 50k miles but once i hear a noise i have to sort it :P
