I wouldn't touch GoPro with a bargepole after being badly stung by the GoPro 3: Black Edition - despite mainly glowing reviews, it wasn't even usable out of the box due to the instability and a year later after many firmware fixes it still wasn't that reliable, the batterylife was poor, the interface very outdated and the firmware update procedure clumsy.  I'd initially thought I had a faulty device but found many others exactly the same who'd tried multiple rma's and had exactly the same back which makes me wonder how the professional reviewers never mentioned any of that.  It was poor for a consumer device and laughable as a 'pro' device which I'd expect to be absolutely rock solid, I expected it would do quite a bit of damage to GoPro's reputation but it hasn't affected them at all.
