Steering Issue

Featured Replies

Hello

Got a slight issue with my 2013 VRS.

Just started reversing in a car park at lunch and the car starts making a noise like I'd run over a cone but I hadn't.

Also feels a bit like I have a flat tyre but they're fine.

Its still making the noise and the steering has gone really heavy.

Any ideas, should I be worried?

Booked in for tomorrow to get looked at.

Providing it's not so heavy you can't drive it safely then why worry? It's booked in to get it fixed and you won't be paying.

any puddles of oil under the car recently?

could be power steering pump running low on fluid?

Not noticed any, but I park it in a few places.

Seemed a bit better on the way home, just see what Skoda say tomorrow.

I'm mechanically inept, just checking it will be ok as Skoda asked me to get there ASAP but I couldn't leave work in time.

Needs either a new steering rack or pump. Going in next week to get sorted.

Not great in an 18 month old car that's not been tracked.
