Wayward Vacuum hose

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Yesterday whilst working under the bonnet I accidentally knocked off a vacuum hose, and I can't find where it goes back on.

Here are a couple of photos. http://imgur.com/a/ezsVC, I have put them in an external gallery because they are too big for the forum and I am on my phone. The engine is the 110 hp diesel.

The hose that has come loose is the lower of the three shown. It's got a t junction in the tube near the little clamp thing holding it on.

Where should the other end of this hose go?

bottom of the air cleaner housing ?

Did you not post this question a couple of days ago?  I am sure I replied with a few suggestions and a couple of images.

Either: Return to the airfilter housing, or the vacuum supply (connects to a t-juntion just after the vacuum pump)

Hi there, thanks for the replies.

Sorry for doule-posting, I wasn't sure that my original post had made it through, I was on the dodgiest network connnection at the time and I couldn't find my thread afterwards.

Thanks for the replies, I'll take a look under the bonnet today.

Are you still driving the car?  if so and the turbo/performance is fine, then that would suggest it was the return air vent to the filter housing which was detached.

Hi there. It was the return to the air vent, yes. I had driven the car with it off, but it felt a little strange and fuel efficiency when accelerating was abysmal. I found the little thing the other end of the hose was supposed to go onto hidden behind the tube as directed, thanks for that!
