Where to get TPMS Retrofit kit?

Featured Replies

Where can I get the button & wiring to retrofit TPMS (assuming it has a compatible ABS module)?

None of my usual sources have them for a Yeti; only for Octavias.

Anyone know?

Thanks for that link.

I'm guessing it's not a genuine Skoda button?

Haven't AliExpress been in the news recently for floating on the stock market? Or am I making that up?

Had a look through their site via the app and there is the TPMS you linked to for US$ 27 and another (using identical pictures and no feedback) for US$43.89.

Think I might take a plunge for about £20 posted.

Should it just a simple case of plugging the button in to the ABS module and (I assume) recoding to activate?

Getting the wires through the bulkhead into the engine is apparently a bit of a pain. But straightforward apart from that.

You'll need to connect three wires IIRC:

Earth, ABS & illumination.

The last one needs connecting to the illumination on a neighbouring button or ESP light.

Getting through the bulkhead on an Octavia wasn't too taxing, but did require removal of the battery & tray as well as the glovebox.

Yes, recoding the ABS module will be required with VCDS.

Hmmm. As there's a hole in the bulkhead to be done, I think I'll give it a miss for now

Thanks for the information though

No, you can use an existing one, you need to get at it.

There's a rubber gromit there with nipples on it specifically for this purpose.

Snip one of the nipples and pull the wire through that (from cabin to engine bay).

It really is quite simple.

I was worried about water getting in, but have had no issues in over three years.

As I've now agreed to buy a Yeti with TPMS already fitted, I won't be needing to source one now.

Thanks though.
