I had a look around on the web. and i decided on the ecs stage one g60 vr6 clutch kit, which i bought from awesome gti for 330 pounds. you get the option of a lighter wheel but i chose the 'silent' heavier wheel.

it comes with an alignment tool to align the friction plate too.

I believe that you get what you pay for, i looked at darkside developments and techniclutch but got mixed reviews but the ecs kit had good reviews. so i thought i might as well pay a little more. it also stated in the description the flywheel was quiet unlike darkside developments who said their flywheels might rattle at idle-i thought thats just a dodgy get out clause!

After i fitted it, the clutch felt ridiculasly light which took a day or so to get used to. but its great and was easy to install and makes no noise whatsoever. after 300 miles its rock solid and is easier to get a smooth gear change with for some reason, possibly due to play in the old dual
