Courtesy/Loan car

Featured Replies

Long story, but , I handed in my trade in and Dealer has "loaned" me a car until my Octavia arrives, its insured through them at no cost to me, but excess is 1k :peek:

They did say that I could ask my insurance to add the loan car on?

Does that sound right? is my current insurer likely to just charge me a few quid admin?

cheers

Sounds about right.

Some do, some don't. I'm lucky, for a day's use they don't charge me.

Best to ask them.

Best to ask them.

Sound advice.

My policy covers use of a car lent by the dealership/garage that is servicing or repairing mine.

Yeah, I plan to ask them, I was just asking on here first.

My brokers not open til Monday

my policy too covers a loan car for when mine is in the garage.

But if I understand correctly you no longer own a car (traded in?) so this situation may be different.

Speak to your insurance co.

If not covered can you buy an independent CDW the same as if you were hiring a car on holiday?

My insurance co said NO lol. so I cancelled with them.

You should have cancelled anyway as anyone should asap after getting rid of a car. If not and the next driver is driving with no insurance I am led to believe claims can be made against you/your insurance however unfair that seems.
