Usb and bluetooth

Featured Replies

i have looked at a octavia vrs and am getting it. A couple of questions- it has the Columbus sat nav but no phone connectivity. The second thing is there is only the 3.5 mm jack and no usb. Can these be added?

Both can be added, USB can be read using an MDI interface, see: http://www.carsystems.pl/vw-media-in-mdi-kit-usb-adapter-for-cars-with-aux-retrofit-5n0035342e,id364.html

Aux can be fitted alongside this and will be active when the MDI isn't.  You will need an aux port and harness, which wires into the MDI harness.  The aux port is part number 5J0035475, search for it on www.skodaparts.com.

BUT: you have an SD slot in the Columbus so is that not really the equivalent of a USB interface?  These days, the Columbus can read 32GB or even possibly 64GB SDHC cards...
