Was a total accident. Was stopped at crossroads and with all the green lights for pedestrians etc. and me not in total concentration I saw green and went. Nothing happened - ie flash and no cars were bnear me...

Would there have been a flash? If I was in the wrong what can expect?

Go back if you can and check if there are any red light cameras on the junction. If there aren't, stop worrying but DON'T DO IT AGAIN!

I went back straight away and there was indeed a camera...

Unlucky, I have myself driven through a red light once after stopping at lights, it was because the ones for the crossing traffic were poinint off centre and I mistook them as the one for me, in a lapse concentration moment, luckily there was no camera or the crossing traffic had not moved off. You may be lucky and not get a fine, but then again you may.

Make a note of it - write down some details. You may get lucky but if it had film in it it's not looking great. Sorry this has happened to you like this though - those things are mainly intended to stop people from screaming through red lights at night I would have said, but still :(
