Rough road package

Featured Replies

After nearly three years ( this December) I had the car up on ramps to investigate a little occasional "clink" from the rear.

I couldn't find a reason for the noise, but I had a good look at the floor of the car. I, like some others on here, use my car for rally and 4x4 motorsport radio marshalling and stage setting out.

There were a couple of dinks in the heat shield round the exhaust and prop shaft, a few cracks in the plastic under tray  around the "pointy" bit at the rear, and a good gouge in one side of the plastic diesel tank. Nothing too terrible and quiet harmless.

I think this only goes to show that it is not really under body protection like the skid plate under the transfer box on my SJ, but rather protection of the body shell from gravel rash.

I couldn't see the claimed protected fuel line and handbrake cable shields - were they always part of the factory fit kit?

The hand brake and brake pipes were upgraded items rather than protected, see;

Thanks, I had forgotten about that. I'm missing the rear triangular plastic bits which I might try and get.
