shock sizes

Featured Replies

Hi all....how do I tell what size my shocks are? When I search on my reg it says 50 or 55mm....is it just a case of getting a tape measure out or is it based on year etc?

Thanks

Russ

From what I kn9w vrs and elegance have a 55mm strut

If u have 288mm or 312mm brakes ur strut is 55mm

if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me

Ah OK, thanks for your reply :) that was my thinking too but wondered why it would bring up two options!!

As above vrs = 55mm, a lot of part sites bring up two sizes to cover themselves so it is the purchasers fault if they choose the wrong part but the hub size is dependent on brake disc hence the two sizes. all vrs will have 312mm discs but other models may not be so clear cut.
