Does this price sound about right?

Featured Replies

I'm upgrading the brakes on the Yeti from 280mm to 312mm and need a few parts!

I've sourced a 2013 Yeti CR140 being broken and they are asking £450 for the hubs and callipers (already have the carriers for the 312mm discs).

Is this about right or should I haggle hard? Just trying to get a sence of a fair price.

Thanks :)

sounds a bit steep to me

ebay has discs & calipers @ £150 and you can buy hubs for £40 each

Of course that is assuming that the bits off a mk5 Golf will fit a new Yeti

Can't see why they wouldn't though

I will haggle a bit but with the parts being from a 2013 they are closer to the age of my own and hopefully with less wear?

4 years ago, I paid £200 for the hubs, discs, calipers and pads from a written off Sirocco.

Total distance covered 106 miles and about 4 hours on the road. Pads were Padgid, and are now about half worn.

Through ebay, from a breaker down in Southamton/Portsmouth. Reasonable delivery.

If your dampers are not 55mm dia, then you will need to factor that in too. I was put in a situation where I had to get whatever was available "RIGHT NOW!".

Had I known, I would have organised something better. Something yellow.

The improvement is nearly as good as the remap.

Thanks Nick, he's not budging on the price, I've looked at cost of new parts and they can be had for less than he's asking for the secondhand bits!!
