Fabia Dipped Head lamp lamp

Featured Replies

This may appear to be a really stupid question BUT

My new Fabia has the off side dipped headlamp out, it is a round trip of sixty miles to the supplier, and it is just the lamp, so cheaper to just replace it myself, The problem I perceive is, can it be done like in old run of the mill cars

which I have done many times in the past

Why am I worried, well I have just got rid of the PUG 206 and to replace the lamp on that, the mechanic spent an hour then in the end had to take it indoors to remove the headlamp replace the lamp and put it together again as access was almost impossible otherwise

I have only had the car two-days, I know I could sling it back to the supplier only I have work commitments, 0900-1930 and they are in the opposite direction, so not an option to pay for sixty miles fuel and a day off work to replace a dipped beam lamp

It is the off-side so no battery in the way I would think? any help please

Regards Jimbo

What engine is it?

1.9tdi

I have not tried to look yet as it is pitch black outside and I have not opened the bonnet other than to check the oil and fluids before taking responsibility for it

Bit close then. There isnt anything complicated just a wire clip around the bulb as per a normal headlamp.

The non-battery side is very easy to do as you have plenty of room to manouevre. Battery side is a little bit tighter and I ended up taking some of the battery cover off to give me more space. :D

Thanks guys, a bit of a tight squeeze but I managed it in minutes off side

I will make mechanic yet :)
