Fabia VRS battery flat, recharged it now DSG gearbox not working right

Featured Replies

Hi guys I have a 2014 Fabia VRS, the battery went flat due to lack of use so I disconnected the battery and recharged it. Now the DSG gearbox doesn`t work properly, it is very jerky and thuddy on gear changes..both up and down, it surges and judders particularly in first gear and sometimes it gets stuck in one gear. Even if you change to manual it still doesn`t work right or doesn`t work at all. The car is just not driveable and I don`t know what damage it may cause.

I contacted Skoda assist and the car has gone back to the dealership for someone to take a look at.

Any thoughts?????

How long was the car parked up that the battery went flat.?

How many miles has the car done?

the battery may be knackered, and the lack of consistant voltage buggering up the gearbox ECU .....

its under warrenty, so I wouldn't stress, they'll fix it :)

Had the car looked at today and according to Skoda my car needs a Clutch Pack.

The cars only done 5000 miles is this a common problem or fault??

Not common, but there were some earlier models did have clutch pack issues.

Sounds more like a Mechatronic Control Unit or ECU issue.

Was your car shown as requiring the Service Campaign Field Action on the DSG.

Oil change & ECU update.?

So how long was the car parked up for?

^^^ I would agree, mechatronics sounds more likley, and is more ommon. If I keep my car, I will be doing the clutch pack with an uprated pack at 100k :) (and another oil change!)
