Faulty electric window

Featured Replies

My 2005 Vrs was making a funny noise when winding up the passenger window. It then stopped working altogether with the window half way up.

I have stripped to door card to find a broken winder wire. (bodged the glass fully shut for know)

Been having a look on ebay at regulator repair kits. Are all mk1 octavias the same ?

Found this one, anyone know if it's suitable ?

Its easier to just buy the new winder than a repair kit, about 40.00 off bay takes about 15 minutes to do really easy.

Also window runners go dry, buy some rubber and silicon spray drop the windows and give them a good blast the windows will glide easier. That is both sides and the top run window up and down 3 or 4 times and wipe excess off window.

I could send you a whole original (used and working) replacement motor/regulator setup for £30

Motor included.  PS: It's not the one below - that's just an example (rear one)

Thanks for that, and the offer of a motor. Decided to get a new part, as the wires could be worn in the s/h unit. An hour later. It's not too bad a job
