Premium Choice

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anybody on here got any experience of 'Premium Choice' car insurance?

They're coming up £130 cheaper than any other insurer for my Octavia VRS TDI.

Interested to see if anybody has dealt with them in the past.

Sorry, just noticed that for some reason half of my post is missing. Was supposed to say.....

They're coming up nearly £200 cheaper than all of the rest and surely there is a reason why?

I have been with Premium Choice for years as my Broker, with Modified cars & 4x4's under a 'Cherished policy'.

Declared Mods, Limited Miles,. Agreed Value'.

Gained no NCB & used no NCB.

Before they were Premium Choice they were Roadsure, and i used them to get 4x4 Modified and Offroad Cover Policies.

No problems with claims through them, and i had a couple..

Ah ok, excuse me if I'm being stupid but does 'gained no NCB' mean you didn't gain any extra bonus whilst with them?

I ideally wanna keep building my no claims discount haha

That was & is with the Cherished Policy, for Second Cars, Collectors, Modified etc.

but then that has been such good value.

Other Policies with other Underwriters can well be different and might well be gaining a NCB.

I have used them for the vRS as they were the cheapest - I had no problems except proving my NCB which I had to email over numerous times...

Cheaper companies have usually cut corners in the back end of the business. Indian call centres etc. Claims processing may also be a bit more work, but George didn't seem to have a problem.

You're taking a chance with every company, imho if you look up reviews they're ALL ****.

Although I know last time I turned down a couple of quotes because they were so cheap (£120 fully comp on a vrs with extras) I got suspicious.

They are a Broker.

& the Policies are with proper Underwriters, the same policies often as you get through other Brokers.

Very efficient in my experience when handling claims.

& no lost 'in the black hole', documentation etc.

I have always dealt with Employees that were knowledgeable on Modifications, Off Road use, not on Public Highway etc.

ie, Where some call centre of phone handling staff think 'Green Lanes' are Off Road when they are just Public Highways.

Thanks for all of your comments guys.

Looks like I will be going with Chris Knott following a quote I received from them yesterday. Any of you have experience in dealing with them?

Not myself but they're a site sponsor so there should be quite a few.

They have their own sub forum, might be worth a dig in there.
