Lowering an L&K Estate

Featured Replies

After seeing my 1st actual L&K estate last week at a local dealer in Winchester it has got me thinking...

The car had pegasus alloys which also means the so called "sport" suspension that VAG group cars come with, but to be honest the ride height still looked at least 40mm too high in my opinion, has anyone lowered theirs and what have they used?

After having the Golf which is lowered 45mm and the A4 that was a sport and rode pretty low as well I think the Octy looked like it would see off a few range rovers!

Duble check its got sports suspension, ours hasnt

But when you spec the pegasus alloys that is part of the package, or so the buff says.

I know that the Golf had sports suspension as we opted for the 17" Santa's on it from the factory but even that was a little on the high side...

Sport package is Pegasus and sports suspension.

Didn't think I was going mad on that one, how much lower is "sports" suspension over standard?

Not enough, get yourself some KW coil overs now!

That;s what I was thinking!!! It's a lease car but the lease company seems happy as long as the car is standard when it's returned.

Anyone got a good contact on someone who can supply and fit?! Prices?!

Hunt around for the best price you can get for supply, I know a man near Winchester who can fit Hes fitted 2 sets of KW's on my Octy. PM me or call on 07799 623693 for details

I know Jabbasport are dealers for KW, Im not sure who else is, If you can stretch to it go for the KW Variant 3, they are IMO by far the best & worth the extra, Ive had them on the 4x4 for over a year now & Im still incredibly happy with them.

Also to Add Winchester Motor Co service both our Octys & I can honestly say they are by far the best dealer weve ever dealt with on any brand & with the number of company cars weve had weve dealt with a few.

If you decide to go with the KW V3 make sure you spec them....I believe fast road is a good set-up.

Also use Winchester Mo Co....good service and cheaper than my local.

Also get a new courtsey car....1.2 12v HTP Fabia....a nice drive.

Found the bit of paper I was looking for, KW UK Distributor is a company called Recaro tel 01926 484111, talk to James if poss, Nice guy & has helped me out a lot in the past

As Adrian says they will set them up at the factory to suit your car & whatever setting you want so specify fast road to start off with. I got the same set up & despite all the tweaks available mine are still set as they came out of the box as Im totally happy, they are good on both road & track

How much firmer does it actually make the car? I cover a lot of motorway miles and need the car to remain comfortable!

Im in Winchester, If you want a spin in an "old shape" Octy with KW3's with std "out of the box"setting call or PM me. 07799 623693

as others have said they are multi adjustable for rebound, damping etc so KW are best to advise on this & set them up
