Youview

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

any of you out there have a youview outside of a contract? looking at getting one and just hooking it up the internet connection.

is there much difference in the talktalk and BT units?

cheers

I've got the talktalk one - it's painful and that's putting it politely.

Sluggish interface, sometime unresponsive to remote, requires frequent resets - it's been relegated to the bedroom and sky brought back in to the house...

Oh dear, thanks for the heads up

  • 11 months later...

I just use the powerline adapters, which are fine.

The interface can be a little sluggish, but overall a good unit for what it is :)

I bought one outright from humax and it's excellent. Better than the sky box I'd say.

The Talk talk ones were the older DTR-1000, which was pretty slow and clunky, but the DTR2000 versions are much much better.

They do work fine over powerline, but luckily that's not a problem for me any more.

I have had the BT T2100 for some time now and I think it is pretty good but at the minute, I don't have it connected to any internet so just using it as a receiver and recorder.

Ideally, I didn't want to use powerline adaptors so considered an alterative which this little box receives Wifi and outputs via the Ethernet but I can't work out how to set it up.
