Hellshine On Carlack?

Featured Replies

I have recently bought some Hellshine spray in the autobrite sale, as well as some other bits.

I have been using Carlack - shampoo, cleaner followed by sealant,, of which I have plenty of each left!

I am hoping to get some hellshine down, if it stops raining this weekend, but have a few Q;s.

Do I need to start again with freshly prepped paint ie all the above removed, clayed, detarred etc

or

Can I wash, detarr, clay and apply on top of what is already there?

Thanks

Preferably start again to get your hellshine down as its a sealant it will sit better on your paint.

But I have put abyss over the top of other waxes before and it still works.

Enjoy the abyss, I've just updated my thread actually lol weird.

The decontamination process you describe will clean up the paintwork ready for the Abyss

You can, of course, just lay it straight on, but it will last longer on cleaned paintwork

Great minds think alike hey Carl!!

Enjoy mate, waxing is therapeutic at the best of times, but using abyss makes it 10x more enjoyable

My neighbours already think I'm OCD, not sure how they'll cope seeing me enjoying it 10x more  lol!

also, any tips for using HS much appreciated.

Best tip I can give is leave it the full 10 mins to cure, depending on weather conditions of course.

Apply it using a good quality detailing sponge applicator.

And use very sparingly, a little will go a long way.

Need to find a decent pad then, ordered some off ebay but not arrived yet.

The red foam applicators available on eBay are perfect for this wax. And are really good quality.

I can post you one on if you like?

No problem, I know a few people who applied abyss on a microfibre pad and preferred that, so you could give it a try.
