Hi, just wondering how long before my insurance is up should I start getting quotes from other companies. It's up 26th January 2015 so only 2 months but is that to soon to get quotes?

Within about 30 days of your renewal is the norm. You'll get your existing company providing their renewal offer around 21 days before renewal.

It's annoying when you see your own insurance co come up on a comparison site offering the same cover like for like but around £30 cheaper.

Armed with this info I rang my company to renew my insurance and the quote I had online and asked why this is, and if I want to take out the new, lower priced quote do I have to do it online. No was the reply, just a few taps on the keyboard and they came back with a quote within a couple of pounds of the online quote.

I suppose I could have got it even cheaper and took the lowest of the low quotes saving around £70 but some of those are from companies I've never heard of.

 

There's a downside to all this though, there always is.........I miss my free baby Oleg toy. :clap:
