Which bluetooth module

Featured Replies

I have just had delivery of an ebay win which I hadn't realised was for 2 bluetooth modules.

One is 5N0 035 730 A

The other 3C8 035 730

So which is better? It is to be matched to a Bolero stereo, no MFSW and no maxidot.

I've tried to research, but to no avail.

Thanks in advance

Joe

They are practically identical.  I hope you didn't pay too much though as they outdated so-called rSAP only modules which need maxidot to pair and only work with certain phones (Nokia, Smasung and other rooted Android based phones but not iPhones for example).

Ah! I guess that won't work then!

I only paid £16 for both, so not a big amount!

Thanks for the info, any recommendation on which unit I need? I've got a 2009 facelift mk2, Bolero stereo and as said, no maxi-dot or MFSW

Phew, you can probably get more than that back by selling them for ten to twenty each which is about all they are worth really.

5K0 035 730 D or 7P6 035 730 J (or letters above) will do it. These are equivalent and you can then pair from the phone end with all phones (using the so called HFP protocol); see the phone book on the Bolero; and they also do music streaming.

It's a very helpful page but just note there are a few errors in it to be wary of...

Edit: one of the two errors I was aware of seems to be corrected now (I'm pretty sure it used to suggest that 5N0 .. C did both rSAP and HFP but it doesn't anymore).

Great, thanks for all the info!

I didn't think £16 was too bad to take a punt on whether they worked or not.

Now back to ebay to find the correct module!
