helix clutch compatible with Sachs dmf?

Featured Replies

Hi does anybody know if the helix clutch disc and pressure plate is compatible with a Sachs dmf?

I am running the helix smf kit at the moment and just about had enough of the chatter and the car gets stuck in first and reverse occasionally.

I have a Sachs dmf which was on the car before the helix and want to mate that with the helix if it is possible.

what power u running? if less that 240bhp should stick with duel mass anyway i got a low mileage duel mass and clutch (no play in flywheel) £120 delivered anywhere uk mainland

Should be running over 200hp turbo running at 1.75 bar, faboka just finishing the mapping on my billet hybrid at the moment so not yet had it on a rolling road.

The old clutch what came out looked low mileage and the dmf had no play or problems so want to put it back in.

Do you know if the helix clutch will fit the dual mass mate?

don't think so tbh not 100% though sure someone will update on here soon

Ok mate, surely somebody has tryed it I bet I am not the only one sick of the chatter

you gotto have chatter for P O W E R every other ferby is running 200bhp nice to be different one of those things you need to live

Yes you can but ring Helix first to confirm as its a different plate and cover for a DMF

If that's the case then the answer to the op is no your clutch won't fit onto a DMF :)

Tht is annoying, wonder if I can uprate the standard Sachs clutch I have, reinforce it to give a better clamping load or use an uprated clutch disc

I don't understand as I have a SMF on mine and to be honest the chatter isn't that bad - I don't even get comments from passengers like others from SMF's have mentioned.

I don't like how loud mine is, it has caused problems with getting stuck in first and reverse, the standard set up never used to get stuck.

On the other hand I like how you can give it hell and not have to worry about breaking it!

theres a problem with yours then shouldn't be getting stuck at all

Again mine never gets stuck in gear - surely there is something not quite right with yours???

Same as my m8's golf no noise what so ever silent 100%

It has always been loud ever since fitting it so just thought that was normal.

I have searched for the stuck in gear problem and people with helix's on here have had the same problem so also thought that was normal it only does it now and again

The Helix kit is very loud, louder than my Sachs SMF set-up.

Ref the sticking in gear, perhaps you should do the shim mod to the gearbox shaft, was a thread on here other day about it,will find it.

I had a look at that mate, bought the shim and the cap, there was no play what so ever on the input shaft and a shim was already in my box,my car is a 2005 so must have it already in believe the later vrs had it installed.

My release bearing is an luk wonder if this is at fault, what is the best release bearing to use?
