Brake wear light on a 06 skoda

Featured Replies

Hi all. The brake wear light is on in my skoda. I've got new brakes on but the wire down to the pads is corroded. I was wondering is there an easy fix like removing the bulb in the dash or do I need to replace the corroded wire. Thanks in advance for any help.

The warning can be coded out using VCDS.

Cut the cable off the pads ,bare the ends and connect together then plug the wire back into the connection. Don't cut the wires from the loom to the connection.

Can a computer from any garage clear that or dose it have to be a main dealer?

You can't clear it with a scanner its just a switch I believe. When the wire in the pads is broken it comes up, there is no code recorded.

Mine did this with new pads although it went away on its own.
