FM Modulators

Featured Replies

I have been through about 8 of these things over the years. They come from China and are absolute garbage.

I only keep using them as they are so cheap but more importantly there seems to be no reasonable alternative.

I record from DAB radio via a laptop to an SD card or memory stick. I can then play this via an FM modulator unit through the car's radio. This is fine until the units clap out.

Can anyone suggest a system for playing SD or memory sticks through the car radio/cassette player

Alternatively and FM modulator unit that is of reasonable quality

Thanks Pav

As you have a cassette player you may still be able to get hold of a cassette addapter, if you haven't seen one before it looks like a cassette shell with magnetic head, a lead then connects to any player with a 3.5mm jack.

For under £50 you can buy a Chinese made car radio that takes 32Gb SD cards, USB drives, connects to Bluetooth for phone calls AND a separate Bluetooth connection for streaming music..

They feel a bit lightweight, and the claimed power output is nothing to write home about, but they seem loud enough to me, and mine works better than the expensive but obsolete Clarion it replaced.

The only thing it is missing is the RDS system on the radio, but sine they hardly ever announce a travel problem until I am already stuck in the traffic jam, I hardly miss it.
