I have a 17" IBM ThinkVision monitor at work which I think is great. No idea how much it cost, but there's no dead pixels (after a year of use) and the pic is still as sharp and vibrant as ever. I don't have a DVI cable either....

Samsung 913M and LG915S can both be had for under

I would second the quality of the Samsung's. We have 15 or so of their 910T TFT's at work, all working perfectly after 18months or so constant use and no dead pixels on any of them. BTW these have digital as well as analogue inputs...

and never regretted it ......... they are currently giving Viewsonic vx924

as the best 19" TFT with 4ms response..

Quote what makes this monitor such a fine choice is a high quality panel
