Interest refund...

Featured Replies

Got a letter from VWFS today stating that they are legally bound to send me regular statements under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. As they had not sent me a statement on time, they could not charge me interest for the period from said statement date until now.  A refund to my account will be forthcoming.

MERRY XMAS....

This one might have slipped my mind when chatting to SWMBO - I think I was busy making a mental shopping list for myself now I have some extra cash to spend.. :)

On a serious note - I did not know this was part of the Consumer Credit Act..  Lesson learned - if they are ever late sending out statements, demand a refund for the interest.  It's within your rights..

I wonder how many company's offer Credit that try and get away with this and when challenged just pay up?

EDIT...  Thinking this was SWMBO's Monte that it was relating too (which I pay anyway), I matched up the reference numbers..  They didn't match, so I checked the Octy 2 I used to own - It's from this agreement, which is now 12 months + finished.

Another lesson - it's never too late to claim it back :)
