I've been thinking about this, I have however seen on other vw forums there are mixed opinions about gains, apparently in the main they allow you to run a larger gap in your plugs hence a bigger spark, and can tolerate a higher temp...I think. I'm interested to know what people here who've done it think. I have however realised that I have the original coils for mine, which end in L, so I'm going to try my luck with the recall and get a proper gap in my plugs, and then go for iridium plugs with the revised coils. If the red isn't your thing I did see a used set of 2.0 TSI packs taken from a scrappy's Scirroco, look like they're in decent nick for £35.

Fair play that does look nice mind, think I'll just try my luck with the recall, it will be a fair bit cheaper, albeit less colourful.

The thing is with something like this, when a component does something more efficiently, you may not feel the difference through the seat of your pants, These run a higher spark value higher in the rev range which makes the fuelling more settled and so when a performance map is run, it is more of a stable playing field when the mapper does his magic.

 

Either way, by the looks of many of the cars on here now they will look stunning either way.

Take it from someone that could win worst engine bay if there was a competition for it, it's not just placebo. I ran the next ones up from mk6 2.0T and boy did they improve running and power. Mine being on LPG it is more prone to misfire when things are not 100% and even running hitachi bolt downs I have to check the plug gaps every 6 weeks (using bkr7e's which help with higher boost and LPG as they run cooler)

There's a better chance of Santa fitting that in your stocking than he'll have with my RARB. My Mrs' face was hilarious when I said that's what I wanted, makes perfect sense to me, Santa loves his mods anyway, you can't tell me the power of that sleigh is pure reindeer, hes on a stage 2 at least.
