Replacing Turbo Back Exhaust

Featured Replies

Evening, I've currently got a turbo back exhaust on my 2003 VRS but it's driving me crazy with the size of it and the noise it makes. What I'm asking is how do I get this replaced? I know I can get used one from eBay but how much is a full systemail gonna cost? I'm Leicester based.

Go to tps in Leicester. They will give you a good price on genuine parts. I use them all the time. If u say your a member of club gti u will get discount too. What turbo back exhaust u got and what size.

I've got a complete standard system sitting in the garage. I can post it too if needed. PM me if you're interested.

From the turbo back? Id expect 3inch max. Maybe if u just change the rear box it might be alot better and u can still keep the benefits of the rest of the exhaust. I recommend mr tyre in Leicester. They use powerflow stainless steel exhausts. New back box would be £120-£160 plus u get to choose your tip.

is that an option then, to just change the backbox? Could they quiet the exhaust down?

They can put a middle box on it and that will make it alot of difference to the sound. Depends how loud you want it. Has ut even got a backbox on or is the tip just welded straight onto the pipe?

not even entirely sure tbh, just got told it was a turbo-back exhaust and judging by how loud it is i would agree with this. On a side note, has anybody used proflow exhausts? I've seen some people on the mk2's have used them, just noticed now there very very well priced for a full stainless steel cat back exhaust which i might now look at?
