Electric tailgate stuck in cold weather

Featured Replies

After frost nights the lock opens but the door rises only a couple of inches before it stops and it beeps one time. I washed the car 2 days earlier, but I open the tailgate and wiped off excess water on the inside.

There are no obstacles nor is the door stuck to the rubber that goes around the door. I have applied silicon to the rubber. It is not possible to rise it manually, its totally stuck and I do not dare to use force to open it. I was able to close it manually. I guess it will open without problem this afternoon when its warmer.

Its this a known problem? Any advice?

Sorry for my bad english

How cold is it where you are?

There were a few posts earlier about the oil leaking partially on some units, it's possible this has happened and the oil used has seized?
