Windscreen replacement

Featured Replies

Due to an errant stone thrown up by a HGV on the M5 I now have a 15 to 20 cm crack in my screen from the bottom right hand corner. I believe it will mean a replacement! What do I need to do to ensure a like for like new one? Yeti is a 2013 Elegance with heated screen.

Thanks,

Steve

I've had 2 yeti screens replaced.

I just notified the insurers and they were changed on my drive. No problems.

I had to pay the windscreen replacement excess though.

( Both of mine were cracks from stones, and the cracks kept on spreading.)

No trouble with the tint, heating etc?

No,mine were both Elegance screens, but not heated.

When we had a windscreen replaced using the official Skoda outfit to call them out the non heated screen was definately

not original equipment. When I asked why not original was told they can be supplied by numerous sources and depends

on what is in stock but unlikely to be as per the originally fitted brand.

Seemed OK quality initially but seemed more prone to scratches/marks from the wiper blade (softer glass) but could be wrong

as subjective judgement.
