    Thanks DSL, worth thinking about!

So, to paraphrase the last few posts, yes the yeti winter wheels will fit the karoq but they do not comply with the certificate of conformity. I will have to look to sell them to a yeti owner then. Thanks for the info everyone.

Hi, does anyone know if the 16" wheels specified for a Yeti fit a Karoq? I have a set of 16" Skoda alloys that I used on a Yeti with winter tyres that I can't use ( car went back at the end of the pcp ) . Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the clarification Urrell. If I remember correctly the mechanic did mention that it was lucky that the bell housing and gearbox weren't badly damaged.
  5. We had handed the car over to our daughter some time before, she reported that the clutch pedal sometimes didn't come back up. Eventually on one occasion there was loud grating noises and the car refused to move. Definitely the clutch. The fingers were all misshapen when it was dismantled. I did drive it over 250 miles with the u/s clutch when I got it to move, probably what wrecked the DMF.
  6. Had DMF and clutch replaced on a 13 reg 2.0 tdi 4x4 a couple of years ago by a local (lake district) independent, cost approx. £660.
  7. My previous yeti, now owned by my daughter, had to have the clutch/DMF assembly replaced about a year ago, mileage 65000 approx. Done for £600 ish at local indie at very short notice.
  8. Thanks AwaoffSki, your previous post arrived while I was trying to type. I'll have a look see. Steve
  9. Thanks for all the advice. I am very familiar (too familiar unfortunately!) with the trade-in route and would prefer to sell privately (usually a better price is achievable). For the sort of car this is, the selling sites see the age and mileage and offer a pittance. I don't use Facebook so eBay is a possibility but I don't use that as a seller (yet). I feared that Briskoda was only for Skoda cars, this is a possibility. Too many options, but one of the problems when one has a high mileage (but very reliable) car to sell. Steve
  10. Thanks for the advice, I haven't totally discounted unto trader but I also find the cold calls a PITA. i did try one VW forum but when confirming my new account I ended up with a Facebook account I didn't ask for or want. It took ages to figure out how to delete it again, don't want that to happen again, hence the request for advice. steve
  11. I know this isn't Yeti stuff but I thought this is where I'll get most useful help. Does anyone know of a similar forum for VWs as I've a Golf Plus that I want to sell. Thanks, Steve.
  12. Great Yeti picture. --- Shame it had to be at such a sad occasion.
  13. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the Volvo. I used to have an 850 estate, great seats, great engine (petrol) great car all round. Hope yours proves to be as good as ours was.
  14. While a brilliant car, just check (if you are in the situation of using an isize child seat system) that you can get the child seat in and get the front seat back far enough for you. That is the only drawback I can see.
  15. The news of his illness was broadcast over here, but it's not the sort of thing one would expect on French radio/tv so you are forgiven. (By me at least) . It is the sort of thing I miss while in residence in Vienne or should I say Nouvelle Aquitaine!
