Columbus Plastic Surround £ ?

Featured Replies

Morning all,

I've just been quoted £75 for a Piano Black Columbus surround PN 1Z0 858 069 CQN77 from a dealership, is this for real...?  Is there anywhere I can get it cheaper...?

Thanks

Dave

IIRC there's a matt black one thats like 6 quid or something.   Annoyingly mine (carbon effect) was also close to 60 quid new..  grrr.

Yes the plain black plastic one was about £7 odd when I bought it a few months ago.

Al of the above sounds about right.

I have a plain black one in my garage for Octavia 2 with manual air con if you want it! Although postage would probably cost as much as it is from the dealer.

Ouch! How do they justify 10 times the price for a shiny black one...!  If I get the matt black one, do you think it will look out of place...?

Not in my opinion.

Or get a can of spray paint and do it yourself as others on here have.

I had the pleasure of stumping up nearly £60 for the chrome effect one with climatronic - Hortons Skoda via Ebay....

Local dealer is struggling trying to find the standard black trim, you wouldn't have a part number for it would you?

Thanks

1Z0858069B; that's for an Octavia with manual air con controls.

See this thread as I am selling a Columbus, surround and newer CAN gateway for older Octavias.

I'm guessing he'll have climate control though being an L&K car.

You are quite right, car has climate control.  I'm wondering if a matt black climate control, Columbus trim was ever produced...?

Thanks

Dave

When I upgraded the climate panel in my pre FL with Columbus to the FL version I couldn't find a trim in the matt black and ended up paying for the piano black trim. Although it cost nearly as much as the climate panel, I say it looks really nice and complements my other trim well which was already shiny black.

I'm beginning to think that's what I'll do... £75 for a bit of plastic Pah...!!!!

I know - the appropriate phrase rhymes with clucking bell...

Same here...... and I've still not received it!

There's one in the for sale section.

Had to pay in full at Skoda :(

So did I, 55€ at dealer just because o Auto AC

I wanted one with the criss cross aluminium finish for my 2011 elegance when I upgraded from my Bolero to the Columbus. Several wrong parts arrived. I was then told it was not available. I eventually took the bolero trim in to them and they managed to order the right one. £78!

It does look good though.
