Et56 wheels

Featured Replies

Had a quick search and couldn't find anything that confirmed whether 17" rims with an offset of ET56 and width of 7.5 would be fine on a 56 plate octy vrs?

Hi, my Octavia (05plate) is fitted with a Sports Suspension set up and 17" wheels from the factory. I'm sure they are ET56. Oh just seen you've a VRS, maybe bigger diameter brakes ?

Im running 17 inch winter wheels and tyres and sure some Vrs came as standard with 17 inch rims, and run 16 inch winter tyres so should cover the brakes if that is your question.

Thanks for the replies.

I was just concerned that the wheel will be slightly closer to the strut and wondered if it would foul anything.

If they fit ET56 17" wheels as standard then I should be fine.

Have you tried the - will they fit - website on google, you just put in your existing wheel dimensions etc along with the new wheel sizes you want to try and it compares them and tells you the differences in width, diameter, speedo correction etc.

The offset on my 2012 MkII FL vRS standard 18x7.5 wheels is ET51.  Putting my hand around the inner rim of the wheel seems to indicate there is plenty of room for the wheel to sit 5mm further in.

yes I used willtheyfit.

Reason I'm asking is I wanted to be future proof in case I opt for fitting Porsche calipers as per the NQSBBK. I need to see whether the OEM 18" would also clear the calipers.

That would be very dependant on the spoke shape, section and profile.

Even some Skoda fitted wheels are close.

There are a couple of threads on here - do a search - where people have the NQSBBK.  There may be pictures which give a better idea as to clearance.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have a search for the NQSBBK and also for octy's with ET56 wheels. These are the wheels I'm hoping to fit, see attached.

The spoke shape and profile do appear to be more outward so hoping that even with the wheels being tucked further into the arch then the OEM 18" Zenith's, I'd clear the Porsche calipers should I go that route in the future.

Whatever Skoda fitted wheels Yeti-Man had (Neptunes?), he had about 3-4mm clearance between the spoke and the caliper.

Just seen you have been over and had a look.
