Featured Replies

Are we talking a complete pain in the butt? :D

Now I should know enough about the removal side, but when it comes to removing with the intention of everything going back together again properly... Hmmmm.  :D

i thought you sold all the bits. how many octy's have you got or do all the parts just make one now :D

I have a good gearbox in the garage and a potential donor with a gearbox that needs replacing. :)

The weathers not great for it. At least not up north lol

The weather is never great for swapping something that heavy out

Easy job mate just make sure you get car high up on stands

It's not so bad. Loads of guides online. I managed to get the whole thing apart and gearbox out on my own in the garage with some high stands and two trolley jacks.

Needed a mate's help to get it back in and line up the shaft - it weighs 45kg.

Just a pain if the box won't clear the sub frame that can cost you some time and give you arm ache ha ha

I would have thought the whole subframe would need dropping anyway?

If you disconnect the driveshafts you don't need to touch the subframe.

Interesting.  It's far enough forward of it is it? :)

Still not 100% sure its something I wish to try and do to be honest, but it looks like the best use of my gearbox in the garage I can think of.

No longer applicable for me now as the Vrs on question went for over 800 quid with a broken box. Surprised went that high.
