same suspension on different cars. differences?

Featured Replies

I had a koni strt.t kit on my fabia which consists of koni str.t shocks and H&R springs. I was happy with the set up with no probs the ride and handling was great. I have had fitted today a set of the same koni str.t shocks to my octavia but with pi springs and i can honestly say the rides alot smoother then my fabia was and not as crashy over bumpy surfaces. Everyone recons the pi springs are cheap for a reason and everyone says the H&R are the better of the two spring choice. Then why does the set up feel alot better on my octavia? How much of a difference if any is there say for instance if i had the same set up on the octavia as the fabia? Does the actual car make a difference even if on same suspension?

Cos of the extra weight maybe?

I was going to say that, the Fabia won't have as much compression capability on the springs meaning when it hits bumps the springs are in effect a lot harder due to the lack of weight.

Mm never thought of that. Made up with the ride though now. A million times from standard

what are the load rated for? and have you felt them bottom out ?

Not sure on load rating. No never bottomed out

Ride comfort is down to the ratio of sprung to unsprung mass. EEBE
