Coil pack recall baby yeah!

Featured Replies

Phoned Sinclair Skoda in Swansea (my nearest dealer 1.5 hrs away), service desk were really helpful. The recall on my car was indeed outstanding (which I already knew from the part numbers). They booked it in with no quibbles, told them it was remapped too. Thought I'd tie in the fresh coils with a plug upgrade. I was running platinum which were pretty good, went for laser iridium, gap checked at 0.7mm, sweet. Car now very smooth and crisp, pretty pleased, more peace of mind on the coils too! Sick

Ours is going in too.

Had mine done yesterday. Car washed and valeted too. Bonus!

I did wonder if I'd get a service wash out of them but no joy! The Skoda gods must have been smiling down at you. Suppose I cant complain, a free full set of healthy coils is pretty pleasing!

Hi guys, my Skoda is 2001, I presume I will not qualify?

Best thing to do is pull your coil packs out and check the numbers on them. Skoda won't replace any ending in R. I know the L versions will be replaced. Its been a while for this now so i can't remember all the qualifying numbers but if youve owned the car for a while and its never been they will do it as its still ongoing.

Forgot to say mine is 2001 and they replaced 3 of mine which were L but they never touched the R.

Brilliant, thanks for the information, will take a look tomorrow....

Only packs they wont change apart from revisions mentioned are pattern part ones, so all is good if you are still OEM.

There was some threads on here with more specific detail on part numbers listed for replacement, but as Phil says if they're still oem and its outstanding should be all good. I'm slightly ashamed to say I can't remember what mine were, I think they were Ls like Meaty's.

I ran out of L ones or the 4th R would've got changed as well!!

Unlucky mate, was it R they put in? I've not checked the numbers on my replacements yet.

Yes it was buddy.

I can't believe this recall is still going after all this time!

And they will replace anything other than revision R or D if I remember correctly.
