Replacing drivers door lock mech

Featured Replies

Following my central locking issue on front nearside door (appears sorted), I still have intermittent faults with drivers door light (most often), interior light and lights on buzzer. I'm thinking lock mech microswitch. Mow I'm not the best with electricals so I went for a used mech which has this part number:

3B2837016H, is that right for my 53 plate? Are these just a straight swap in, or if its a different year do they need resetting in vcds?

I've seen the thread from Bowders on the microswitch so I've got removal sorted, I assume the door pin swaps over? Is it easy enough to clip in?

Any help appreciated, if I get these details sorted I'll feel more confident doing it myself, only I don't want to fit it and be in a worse position with a door I cant open! Cheers

PM Bowders1 or group1rs, as they have both done theirs and have real hands on experience of this to help you.
