Looking for dealer/independent to fit/supply tow bar (SE London) ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking for somebody to either fit or supply and fit a tow bar to my 59 Octavia Hatchback.

Tow bar needs to be of a type to support cycle rack as well as motorcycle trials bike. The trials bike mount bolts to a metal plate on the tow bar. The bike rack looks like this

Apologies for the rubbish picture, the actual bike rack is buried somewhere in the garage under years of detritus.

The cycle rack will probably be a Thule one, possible this one.

Can anybody recommend either a dealer or an independent (not fussed to be honest either way), who can do all the work and not screw up the electronics. I would do this myself but after completely screwing the car up last time fitting a Bluetooth module, I am 100% banned from working on the car by t'other half :)

I live SE London but happy to go a reasonable distance into Kent (or even Essex <gasp>).

Thanks and have a merry Xmas,

Rob.

I went to a place in Rainham, took my own (pre-purchased) tow bar.

They fitted it, no mess, no wiring problems and no cups of tea/coffee while I waited.

Can't find the paperwork for this job but I found it via Google.

If you use this place, take a flask a warm coat and something to entertain yourself for a couple of hours.

Sorry for delay in coming back to you. Xmas got in the way.

I'll google for them in Rainham.

Thanks

Rob.

I bought & supplied the removable tow-bar, they just fitted it. They did a good job as I've had no problems to date.

If you can't find it with Google let me know and I'll Google Earth it.
