VRS Estate - Spare wheel?

Featured Replies

My new VRS Estate has a spare wheel under the boot floor cover.

The supplying dealer was convinced it shouldn't have and it should just be a foam repair kit.

So, what's the deal? Must admit that the dealership was pretty rubbish anyway so I wouldn't be surprised if it was maybe just the hatch or something

It should be there, it is standard in the vRS.

Good old main dealers!

I'm actually considering shunning the main dealership servicing route and using our 'Bosch approved' local garage that I use for our other cars. Apparently as long as the correct servicing schedule is followed then the warranty remains valid.

They must really be good at PDI's and hand overs, NOT!

Is the stuff in the Foam Centre OK.

Tweezer for Wheel Nut Cover removal.  & Locking Nut Socket?

Jack, Handle, Wheel Brace.

Best Check your own wheel nuts, and tyre pressures & Reset the TPMS.

Re Servicing.

Maybe best go to a VW Dealership.

You want any Service Campaign work done, and Software Updates etc.

But you can use an Independent the has on Licensed VWG Diagnostics, and you are sorted.

*If anything ever comes up as needing done or updated, you go to Skoda to get it done.*

Funny you should say that.... I`ts a 2014 pre reg with 200 miles on the clock

First of all I realised the book pack was missing. The sent me a new one no problem.

Then the other day I set about fitting the PDC kit and went to remove the rear wheels - No locking wheel nut!

I called the dealership and got passed around - I then lost my cool and ended up shouting at the sales manager. He passed me to the parts manager who wanted me to call in and let them try all their master keys as apparently the locking wheel nut code/pattern is not retained on file.

I came up with a better idea and demanded the salesperson who handed the car over to me come over to my house with all the keys and determine which one it was then order me another! Fair enough he was over in around an hour with 5 boxes of master keys to try. He gave me a genuine Skoda umbrella as a 'gesture'

Aside from that its all smooth going.

We have a couple of BMW's and the service from them is crap too!

Fair play you not had the best start with the car but not all the dealer are bad there are some good one too

Yes there is ment to be a spare wheel it's a 15" steel wheel

I've got a spare In my vrs estate. 2011. Not sure what size it is. I've also had to order a new Locking wheel nut too in the past. I did have to take my car to dealers and they tried loads until they found the right one. I was also told that they don't keep a file of it mate.

The spares in the vRS as standard are 195/55 R 15

Worth checking the tyre pressure if it has not been done.
