Estate / Wagon under boot floor storage

Featured Replies

Anyone know if this little jobbie fits cars without the variable boot floor?  Skoda part number 5E5 863 957 A

It looks like it would fit into the spare wheel well...if you didn't have a wheel. Can't see why it wouldn't fit.

if you didn't have a wheel.

That's the question, really.  Anyone on here got one and does it fit on top of the space saver?  I've asked the seller but had no reply.

That looks pretty much what was underneath my variable load floor until recently when I took it out to put a 17 inch space saver wheel in that space, i.e. that is not intended for use with spare wheels! There are people on eBay selling the correct kit to take 15 or 16 inch spare wheels, it is just a foam section with a wheel shaped recess and the jack etc but you should be able to buy the same item from any Skoda dealer too. If you are happy with a can of foam and a few prayers, then the item in your link gives useful storage for odds and ends but that's all that it does!

Ta.  I was just thinking it might be useful to store valuables out of sight (camera etc) when we're on our hols.  No way would I junk the spare to gain a tiny bit of storage space though.

This is in mine, but I have no spare - as said above space is useful, but imho probably not worth messing about or spending too much to gain it along side a spare

Don't you have the separate compartment at the rear of the boot under the floor near the rear seats? I'm putting stuff there, & I have the vari floor, skinny spare, & wheel mounted sub woofer

No, I don't have the variable floor so no cubby holes - VBF wasn't compatible with Canton.  There is a space behind the spare which I was hoping to use (for £18 it was a no brainer) but it looks like it won't work with the spare.

VBF wasn't compatible with Canton.

Someone needs to tell my boot that... it has both a VBF and a Canton subwoofer in there.  There have always been two options for VBF - 'VBF' and 'VBF for Canton'.  The first cannot be specced with Canton, but the second (unsurprisingly) can.

Sod's law - it wasn't an option when I ordered my VRS (nor were rear heated seats which I'd have specced too, which are now on the list).  I won't bother trading in just to get a few cubby holes in the boot.... not for a couple of years, anyway.

Edit - might have been another option it wasn't compatible with.  I binned the brochure and can't remember now.
