xenon ballast question

Featured Replies

hi i've got a skoda octavia vrs on a 54 plate with factory fit xenon's i have recently had the n/s dipped light checked the fuses all good so i went out and got 2 new ds2 bulbs as told i had to replace them both at the same time which i did then i had the same no light on the n/s so i then looked into it more and changed the ballast from the o/s and the n/s bulb worked. so i looked for a ballast and the one's i've got are the al (bosch) ones and mine end with the last 3 digit's of 069 the one i found on ebay arrived and it had same model number but ended with 066 fitted it and again no bulb lighting side, fog and full beam all work on that n/s.  i'm at a loss now either the ballast doesn't work or the question i wanted to know do they have to be a matching pair of model numbers to work??

Any help would be appreciated as i'm new to xenon's.

Seems strange have you tried turning on with the engine running, seems like it needs to code itself the mk2 is very fussy with led side lights. Failing that is the ballast a duff have you tried it on both lights.

It does sound like the ballast is faulty, you may get a better reply in the octavia mk1 section, this is the mk2 section & the cars are very different, somebody may have already had this problem on their mk1 & fixed it.

i Have a Ballast no: 307 329 069 - 944 in a circle BVD made in france i should have a pair as supplied with some xenons i purchased from a guy with a lauent 2002 your welcome to them.

Reason i did not use them i had to buy DS2 bulbs and the fitting to work with hid ballasts.
