dash warning light

Featured Replies

For those of us who aint at the pub can u shed any light on this..

my "testing engine electronics" light came on this afternoon on my way to work. have rang my local dealer and am taking it in tomorrow (tho they cannot guarantee they will be able to check it- too busy apparently  ). its an Octy vRS, 2001, 33k. Just wondering if anybody else has had this and what the outcome was or what it could be.

cheers

Hopefully a diagnostic check will highlight the fault(s). Does the engine run OK as normal?

yes it runs fine. The dealer asked if it was mis-firing or anything else noticeable when driving it and it doesnt appear to be. Just hope they do look at it tomorrow as he's telling me that it shouldnt really be driven until they run the check on it and the next official booking in time he could give me is friday :thumbdwn:

Surely it doesnt take too long to run a diagnostic check to at least find out what the fault is?

Hy

Perhaps can be the sonda lambda, or Catalyst

I would imagine if its running ok it will be a coolant temp sensor fault.

Just got the same warning light on my 04 (19000 miles) vrs. Phoned the dealer and he said to drive it for a day to see if it goes away as it could be carbon on the Lamda probe. If it doesn't go away I've got to take it in to be checked

to keep you updated: my problem has been diagnosed - was a result of a problem with the turbo intake pipe im told - am now waiting for a phone call to say new piece has been delivered. Am using the car until i get the call.

Mind you - had to take my service shedule in to be photocopied to see if the job can be done on my warranty

Drove around 50 miles yesterday and light still on. Started the car this morning and the light was out :)
