How do i wire an amp to my factory door speakers and tweeters?

Featured Replies

hi guys want to get some more out of my door speakers and tweeters, just wanted to know how would i wire an amp to them to give them some more power and so they sound clear.

cheers

Your oem ones ?

Wouldn't bother even if you figure out how. The factory speakers are pretty terrible, you'll just make them worse and/or blow them if you wire an amp in.

Much better off spending some ££ to get some decent cheapy replacement speakers IMHO!

yeah ive been told the same by a friend, think i might just get some new ones.. any one got any idea what size they are??

Fronts are 16.5 - 17 cm iirc but the big problem is depth, there's not much space between the door skin and the door card and be wary of cutting the membrane in there for more space as you'll get door leaks when it rains. Rears are 13cm. Front and rear are components so separate tweeters, if you get something with tweeters built in you can either use the stock tweeters and not wire up the new ones or visa versa but don't try and use both!
