Arrrghh please help an old man with bluetooth

Featured Replies

I hate posting up on a subject that has been done to death but I'm really struggling and hope you can help

Ive got a 2014 Fabia with Amundsen+ head unit, MFSW and the white Maxidot

I want to add bluetooth functionality and I understand the best route is the VW module.

The latest is available at £300 from 'in car hands free' and I'll need to get it coded.

With it being a lot of money Ive naturally looked on ebay and there are loads of the earlier software versions for a lot less.

Can someone help me out by linking me to the best option to buy? I can get it coded as I live close to Awesome GTI so that should be OK

I want a system that will work with my Galaxy s5 and display the graphics and keypad on the Amundsen screen. Sorry to ask but I am at the end of frustration with all the options

Many thanks in advance

There was a link some where which said which units work with which spec cars.

Mine was only £100 off eBay then coding by phill off here (top bloke) mine got the same head unit as yours with the maxidot but because mines a retro fit the maxidot didn't work with satnav.

Is yours the Amundsen that doesnt have it integrated then? As it may be as simple as coding and fitting a microphone?

If it is not integrated, then with your setup (ie with newer maxidot) for about 95 quid you can get a premium module from ebay (search 3c8035730d). Then its just the loom and mic from car systems for 60 quid and its fairly easy to fit (plenty of guides on here).

Oh yeah I forgot that some have built in Bluetooth :)

Try that first :)

Thanks for the replies to the thread chaps

Unfortunately mine does not have BT inbuilt.

Ive decided to buy the Fiscon basic plus as this seems to do everything the OEM does and has the ability to upgrade the firmware
