Best exhaust for power and sound?

Featured Replies

My octy vrs is running a totally standard exhaust with a piper rep back box.. sounds okay slightly louder then standard and sounds okay on boost too, i want something for performance and want it louder :P

im obviously going with a decat and non res, im thinking of going with a 3" down pipe decat, 2.5" non res center pipe and possibly keeping my back box depending how it sounds once decat and centre pipe are done..

What would you guys recommend?

A lot of people use Milltec systems but its usually down to how much you want to spend and what ither mods you are doing.

Loud dosnt mean more power.

An exhaust on its own may not do anything for performance and could make it lose power.

Decat or sportscat make the biggest difference, Miltek's non res not particularly loud, Piper non res popular for noise, try a search Bowders and Rob have put sound clips up of the Piper system.

It's the downpipe that's makes the difference, I have a toyosports decat with a non res miltek and its loud on full throttle.

are the toyosports decat down pipes any good? ive heard alot about toyosports stuff being cheap and poor quality and sometimes dont fit right, ive even experienced it.. fitted an 6-2-1 manifold on a type r and it was touching on the fire wall and didnt really feel any faster

Seems to be all good, I've had it on for over a year now, did have to fit a lambda spacer as I kept getting eml light coming on, I bought a 200cel cat and 3'' down pipe,be easier than swapping to stock cat for mot time and then back again.
