Cold start sound

Featured Replies

Hai

I start my car today morning , I heard a noice from the timing belt and throttle body hose area , after the rpm goes down the sound is gone with a air realising sound , then the car is in perfect condition no sound and nothing

Please let me know what's that sound coming while starting in cold start and how it's going after the rpm goes down

Yup, if it clears when the revs drop it's pretty much guaranteed SAI. Not really an issue until it gets really loud so might be worth just ignoring it for now and then look to sort it out or remove it. Most people get rid and have it mapped out as it's usually a lot cheaper and its only there to help with emissions for the first 90 seconds or so after the car is started.

That and the noisy starter motor are pretty common when the temperature drops :)

Can I drive the car ? Will this make any power loss or any other damage ?

No it won't cause any damage, but may throw a fault code at some point.
