Keep your alloys kleen in Exeter

Featured Replies

This is my first post, so i'll say hello to everyone at the same time as asking a favour from someone. I have a Vrs, and i wast to keep it looking as new/clean as possible. I have been looking for a way of maintaining the alloys, and found a company who are selling 'dust shields' that fit between the hub and the wheels, they are based in Exeter. I have been in contact with them by phone to find out if they had a set for the Fabia Vrs(standard wheels), they have got fitments for VW/Audi models so there is a chance that they may fit the Fabia. Now for the favour!, having spoken to them, it's possible for them to match up the wheels to the dust shields that they have listed for VW/Audi models. I live on the Isle of Wight, so it's a bit difficult for me to go there myself,.......would any Fabia Vrs owners in the Exeter area like to help? I'll probably get shot down in flames for suggesting a mod that hides the disc/caliper from view, but that's a small price to pay (in my view) for keeping the alloys sparkling. Anyone in the Exeter area? http://www.kleenwheels.co.uk/aboutus.htm

:D Was hoping you were going to be a mobile alloy cleaning service, as I'd have a job for you up in Pinhoe. ;) Don't think those would be any good for my big brakes.

What do you drive? Look out for a butchered silver "TDI" Fabia with a big :D on its face. I'm usually charging up from thw swingbridge to Pinhoe up the Ring Road around 8am, and back down around 5.30. ;)

That is quite interesting..... When I was with a previous employer I used to spent a lot of time going round car factories, they fit these on the production line to shield the discs from rain etc. The dealers usually remove them as part of the pre-delivery inspection.

Incidentally they look terrible fitted.

I was thinking this too. :thumbdwn: I didn't get big brakes and paint the calipers green to hide them behind a shield. :D

Must look out for more vRS' around here I guess - Still VERY rarely see one.

Edit: Just twigged your not around Exeter. :o If you need a guinea pig, give me a shout - but I don't see it as being a popular mod. :) Wonder what Alloy Kleen's rate for experimentation would be? I'm sure my little car doesn't mind being fiddled with. :D Only issue is, she doesn't have your average braking setup on the front. ;)

Comma Alloy Cleaner.

Gavin,

You dont live in St Thomas' by any chance do you?

I was in ex for a few months last year and saw a vRS quite frequently in that area...

I use a domestic steam cleaner for my alloys - superb job

hi all

only second thread but fitting them would that not increase chances of brake fade due to keeping heat in?? put up with cleaning wheels than loseing brakes at speed lol :)
