black edition questions

Featured Replies

A few questions someone maybe could answer for a prospective yeti owner:

Is the black edition equipped with the new haldex 4x4, or is it the older generation 4x4 system?

Does the black edition have colour coded yeti outdour bodywork and protection panels, or is it simply a non-outdoor yeti in SE trim with extras. My confusion stems from the fact that the non-outdoor version doesn't have the 140hp diesel option.

How big is the step in the back from the passenger floor zone up to the boot zone when the seats are removed?

And finally, how heavy are the varioflex seats - 10's of kilos each?

Cheers,

New Yeti, new version of the Haldex.

The older "bug-eye" had the Gen4 Haldex.

It's a Yeti SE Outdoor, with black bits and options fitted as standard.

140 diesel 4x4, which is not available in the Indoor version.

Don't have the step measurement to hand.

Mine has a spare wheel so there is a bigger step.  Without it there is virtually no step.

The outer removable seats are quite heavy.  Around 20-25kg I think from last time I removed them.

Obviously the middle one is a bit lighter.

I have a white 'Black Edition' and love it.

Can't add anything to what Mr Fox has already said as he appears to have answered everything.

Thanks chaps.

Had another poke around one when I went in to garage today. They don't have the spare wheel, just the kit, so would have the deeper load space that I'm after. If I get it, it will have the rear seats removed and a large doggie crate installed.

They have white and black cars to choose from and both are smart lookers. Going for a test drive Saturday morning and I'm sure the wife and I will like it. It'll come down to how much they offer for a part ex on our defender, though a private sale of that could happen yet.

I'm probably wrong, but I was under the impression the Black Edition was a City model

The Indoor doesn't come in 4x4 does it?

I think the 4x4 Monte Carlo is also an Indoor - I'm no expert though so I could well be wrong

Considering the Outdoor and Indoor are the same car with just different bumpers etc... It could be half way between the two. Indoor exterior trim and Outdoor running gear.

If the black model is an indoor model It'll not have the underbody guards of the outdoor. Can anyone confirm that?

I explicitly asked him what the black edition was based on and he said an outdour with different styled and colour coded bumpers and sill covers. Thinking about it logically, the front bumper on the black doesn't help approach angle clearance, so I'm thinking it's probably a halfway model BossFox suggested.

No. Both models get the same basic under-guards and you can specify the additional extra cost "rough road pack" on both models.

The one I saw in the dealer showroom in winchester last week certainly looked like an "indoor"'model to me.

Yeti Black Edition is a "indoor" model ( defo not Outdoor) based on a SE Trim 2Ltre TDI 140 PS 4x4 with either manual or DSG PLUS Sports pack, 17"matterhorn wheels,Admundsen sat nav + DAB radio and side mouldings.Retail is £23990 OTR.

There you go straight off Skoda UK Website.

It must be right then. :giggle:

I also thought that the "indoor" was not available in 4x4.

Fred

Fred,

I suggest you go and play on the "Configulator".

:notme:  :D

You can have fun building all sorts of variations.

The Indoor does not usually come with 4wd Fred, one wonders if it is a ploy by Skoda to sell through the Indoor style as the Outdoor must be the best selling variant.

Well! I've had a few suggestions as to what I should do but that's one I've never had before.
